Wholesale Account Manager / Barista Trainer

Wholesale Account Manager / Barista Trainer at Cloud Picker Coffee Dublin

Start Date: Immediate

This role is a key point of contact with all our wholesale clients - representing the brand to existing and new customers, helping train their staff, and supporting them to grow and develop their business. It also involves coordinating production, taking orders and ensuring that those orders are fulfilled efficiently.

You will be an experienced barista trainer, and enjoy the challenge of training people at all levels. Some technical/machine maintenance experience will be advantageous, too. You should have confidence in your knowledge, but also be diplomatic, approachable, and take a pragmatic approach. You will actively build positive relationships with our coffee partners and their staff, fostering a sense of community among the baristas working with our coffee.

You will also need to be an organisational whiz, with a flair for complicated excel spreadsheets, who takes satisfaction in getting all your ducks in a row. You will take an active role in ensuring that production is as efficient as possible, actively seeking ways to improve systems in all aspects of production: ordering, stock control, roasting, packing, and delivery.

And finally, as well as a love of coffee, you are passionate about the coffee industry and hospitality in general, committed to keeping up with innovations and developments in the field, and to furthering your own education.

Duties include:

  • Deliver barista training to wholesale customers
  • Help wholesale accounts develop quality and grow business
  • Provide first-line technical support to wholesale accounts
  • Take wholesale orders and communicate to production team
  • Develop sales to wholesale accounts
  • Coordinate and plan production with Roastery team
  • Assist with production, packing, and delivery as required
  • Manage stock and ordering of retail products and packaging
  • Ensure HACCP policies followed at all times

Some travel will be involved, and a full driving licence is a requirement for the position. While it is an integral part of the production team, roasting will not be a part of this role.

TOM'S WINNING VICE IRISH COFFEE COMPETITION RECIPE

Vice Irish Coffee Comp 2016

Recently Tom won the Vice Irish Coffee Competition 2016! Here he is parading his loot! Check out his recipe below.

Spiced fruit syrup
10 cloves
5 star anise
1 tsp coriander seeds, crushed
1 tsp allspice berries, crushed
3cm stick cinnamon
150g prunes, quartered
150g raisins
100g demerara sugar
Zest of one orange

Put all ingredients except orange zest in a pan with 600ml water. Bring to the boil then simmer for 5 minutes. Add the orange zest and simmer for a further 5 minutes. Strain through a sieve, pressing to release the juices from the fruit.

    Whiskey cream
    100g double cream
    1 tsp icing sugar
4 tsp whiskey (Hipster or non-hipster will do! I used Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition)
Mix ingredients in a bowl and whisk until just barely beginning to thicken. Stir before use. This makes enough for about 4 glasses of coffee.

      Irish Coffee
50g espresso (I used our Sam blend)
      50g fruit syrup
      30g whiskey
      80g boiling water
      Whisky cream, to serve
Warm the fruit syrup in a water bath and preheat an 8oz glass.
Dial in your espresso to give an approx 50g shot (I used a 22g dose in a 20g VST basket, to give 48g in 26 seconds).

In the glass mix espresso, syrup, whiskey and boiling water. Stir well.
Float the whiskey cream on top by pouring slowly over the back of a spoon, pouring just to the rim of the glass. Serve immediately.

Now relax & feel the warmth! Of course - always drink sensible!
