From Can to Cocktail: What Happens When You Mix RTD Coffee With Good Spirits

From Can to Cocktail!

If you've been following us for a while, you'll already know our ready-to-drink cans - Oat Caramel Latte, Nitro Cold Brew, and Oat Matcha Latte, both built for people who want café-quality coffee without the café. Grab one from the fridge, crack it open, done. That's the pitch, and it's a good one.

But we've been sitting on a second use case that we think deserves its own moment: our coffee cans as a cocktail base.

We threw a small private tasting! A few of us got together for an evening of experimenting, spirits, our cans, and a trial and error, to see what actually worked. The results were really good! and we think they're worth sharing, here are three that stood out:

Flat White Martini

A modern twist on the espresso martini, using our Oat Caramel Latte for extra body and a rounder sweetness.

> 40ml Boatyard V-52 Vodka
> 10ml Mr Black's Coffee Liqueur
> 50ml Cloud Picker Oat Caramel Latte
> 5ml sugar syrup

Preparation & Glassware:
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake for 30 seconds to achieve that foamy texture, and pour into a martini glass.

VCT (Vodka, Coffee, Tonic)

Light, long, and easy-drinking,
a good option for anyone who finds coffee cocktails too rich.

> 35ml V-52 Vodka
> 50ml Cloud Picker Nitro Cold Brew
> 100ml tonic water
> Garnish: orange slice

Glassware & Ice:
Served in a highball or tall glass using long ice blocks.

Coffee Negroni

Stirred, not shaken, over ice and strained into a rocks glass. The coffee infusion adds depth to the Campari's bitterness without overpowering it.

> 30ml Boatyard Double Gin
> 20ml Cloud Picker coffee-infused Campari
> 25ml Cocchi di Torino vermouth

Glassware & Ice: Served in a rocks glass using square ice blocks.

Why RTD Coffee Works So Well in Cocktails

The short version: consistency and convenience. Our cans give bartenders (or you, at home) a stable, pre-balanced base to build around, no brewing equipment, no guesswork on strength, no waiting for espresso to cool. That's exactly the kind of reliability a good cocktail recipe depends on.

If you're curious to try any of these yourself, our Oat Caramel Latte, Nitro Cold Brew, and Oat Matcha Latte cans are all available on the site. Grab your favorite and experiment!

If you're leaning toward the matcha, we highly recommend trying the Maple Oat Matcha Martini, it's a massive crowd-pleaser right now. We'd love to see what you make with them!
