Mantagro represents a collective of small farms based in the municipality of Valparaíso, in the southwest of Antioquia — the Colombian department with the largest area dedicated to coffee cultivation. Located in the country’s northwest, Antioquia is historically significant as the birthplace of Colombian coffee growing and the founding site of the National Federation of Coffee Growers in 1927.
The landscape here is predominantly mountainous, stretching across the central and western slopes of the Andes. With its tropical climate and rich volcanic soils, Antioquia offers ideal conditions for coffee production. Farming is carried out by both small family-run plots and large, modern estates. The leading varieties grown include Castillo, Colombia, Typica, and Caturra. Beyond coffee, the region is also renowned for cultivating mangoes, avocados, and corn.
If the process of making a speciality coffee at home is a little OTT for you - this is just what you have been looking for!
