Project Waterfall

It's been a busy six months for Cloud Picker, Project Waterfall and other supporting partners!

Within the Berbere Project we're thrilled to announce that work has begun on renovating the Burkitu springs and constructing WASH facilities in schools and healthcare centres. And that's just the beginning - the Project's team have been hard at work completing a number of assessments and studies, including gender and social inclusion analysis, hygiene formative research assessment, and mapping and water security assessment.

We're proud to report that the menstrual hygiene management and 'Rethinking Rural Sanitation Approach' trainings have begun for healthcare workers, reaching 39 health workers across all seven project locales. Additionally, hygiene promotion activities have started in Haro Dumal and Welitei-Berbere, with recently trained health workers reaching 2,136 people with hygiene and sanitation messages.

But that's not all - the project has also started community discussions with 193 participants, covering topics such as gender, safeguarding, women's empowerment, climate change, and hygiene and sanitation. And to ensure that the water supply is safe and secure, Project Waterfall has purchased three water quality test kits and provided training on how to use and store them.
