Guatemala | El Sendero

Stewed Plum | Roast Chestnut | Sugar Cookie

We've tried some top Guatemalan coffees in the last year and we were delighted to add a Huehuetenango single origin to our offering for the first time in a while.
The El Sendero cooperative is located in Concepción Huista, right in the heart of the highlands of Guatemala's most famous coffee-growing department.
The coffee is taken from smallholders situated in the Huista region around the town. The cooperative was formed in 2016 and currently serves 659 members. They recently invested in a warehouse to help farmers to access the market more easily.
Because there is plentiful water in the area, farmers process the coffee at the farm before delivering to the warehouse. It is then transported to the La Central dry mill near Guatemala City before being made ready for export.
