This is our first ever coffee from Martha in Coffee Bird, so we're super excited to be able to showcase this really stellar coffee!

It's from the Huehuetenango regions of Guatemala and with altitudes over 2,000 meters, Huehue is the highest and driest region of Guatemala. It is only one of three regions without volcanic soil. The hot winds from the Mexican mountains has historically protected the region from frost.

BACKGROUND

Jorge Ovalle Mendez founded San Antonio de Esquipulas in 1965. The name is devout to the ‘Cristo negro’ or black Christ of Esquipulas and Saint Anthony of Padua. Ever since the farm was founded, it has always been used to harvest coffee. Jorge is always innovative with his technique and is constantly improving the cup quality. The farm has a great team of people that have over 30 years of experience and are constantly learning new things to become better coffee producers.

Enjoy folks!
