Muthuthuini is a washing station located in the Nyeri county, one of a number of coffee growing regions situated around Mount Kenya. It’s operated by the Ruthaka Farmers' Cooperative Society and was founded in 1987, with 3,557 farmers as members.

The Muthuthuini farmers benefit from fertile red volcanic soil from Mount Kenya, an asset to all these regions and one of the reasons the coffee of this area is so highly prized.

The area has quite a small average farm size. On receipt of the farmers' cherries, the cooperative will sort and process them based on quality.

This coffee is your typical Kenyan coffee, it’s what you expect and like in your cup! It’s juicy, got the classic blackcurrant notes backed with subtle sweetness of honey and a spike of Kiwi acidity. What’s not to like!
